One of my favorite aspects of being a personal shopper is getting to know so many different personalities. It’s a challenge to get to know each client’s personal style, fit choices, and to help them feel like their personal best after pulling together pieces from their closet.
I love shopping at places that offer the greatest range of choices for style, sizes and cuts because to me, these are the places that embrace the same ideology: everyone should feel good about who they are and how they look when they get dressed. I love places that offer the full range of options for my clients. Gold stars all around!
Since many of my clients have asked me in the past, here are my Top 4 favorite places to shop based on the best size and style selections:
Shop: This Crossover Ruffle Blouse
1. LOFT. I have always loved shopping LOFT for their classic looks and comfortable fabrics, but they just sky-rocketed to the top of my list in February when they added their all-new plus size line to their styles. Whether you’re looking for career pieces or a more casual athleisure style, they have a line for you (in every size range now, too!). Their Lou and Grey line hails pieces with fabrics so soft and cozy they make me want to sit home and curl up with a good book all day. ☺
2. Talbots. If you like one-stop shops, then Talbots is where you need to be. Featuring all-inclusive sizes and cuts (misses, petites, plus and petite plus, too) and a classic modern style, you’ll find the core pieces you need to build a fabulous wardrobe. Whether you need pieces for work, for a casual lunch with friends, for an elegant night on the town (check out their new RSVP line!) or some super cute workout gear, they’ve got it. Need accessories, shoes, or an adorable Christmas sweater for the pooch (you know I bought one for Jake!) – they’ve got that too. Talbots has really ramped their style options and quality of pieces in the past few years, ensuring customers always find what they’re looking for (and a few things they didn’t know they were looking for).
3. Old Navy. If you need to restock some wardrobe basics, you absolutely cannot beat the trendy styles and affordable prices at Old Navy. Since they offer a full range of sizes and styles, they are the perfect place to shop for pieces like tanks and camis, cardigans, and trendy slacks. I absolutely love their summer dresses because they offer such fun prints and easy, comfortable fits. Added bonus – they always have a promo going on, plus you earn “Cash” when you shop! What’s better than getting paid for your next shopping trip? (Um, is that a trick question?)
4. Lands’ End. The greatest options for the perfect size and fit (seriously – regular, petite, tall, plus, petite plus and tall plus – holy choices, Batman!), plus the full range of products, makes Lands’ End one of my all-time favorite places to shop. They have fantastic quality, an easy online ordering and return service, and have a classic style that’s always on trend. I love shopping Lands’ End for winter coats and swimsuits (you can read about that here).
Since your wardrobe choices are in essence, an extension of who you are as a person, shouldn’t they make you feel awesome about who you are too? Since there is no cookie-cutter format for cut, style, size, or fit preferences, I love shopping at places that understand this principle by offering choices for everyone.
