The temperatures are dropping and the trees are changing colors. Is your closet ready? If it’s not, don’t worry! I’ve compiled a list of my top five fall 2019 must-haves.
Get ready to go shopping!
Boots. Is there anything better than kicking your way through the crisp fall leaves on the sidewalk in a new pair of boots? I’m loving all types of boots this season, from ankle booties (like this pair from Madewell) to tall boots (like this pair from Nordstrom). It doesn’t matter if you’re into suede or leather — boots are everywhere this season and I love them all! If you want to make a statement you can go with a block heel But, if you’ve got a lot of walking to do? It’s just as easy to find a chic pair of boots with a flat sole.
Leather moto jackets. Leather and fall go hand-in-hand. This Madewell piece is an absolute classic, but if you don’t want to splurge on the price tag — or, if you prefer faux-leather — this vegan alternative is a great pick as well. (And, if black feels just a bit too edgy for you? Try a different color, like this cognac jacket from Bloomingdales.)
Sweater dresses. Is there anything cozier than a slightly-oversized knit sweater dress? (I don’t think so!) Grab a few this season — this lightweight version is great for warmer days, and this thicker knit dress will work well into those chilly November nights. I love sweater dresses because they’re so easy to style. Just throw one on over a pair of leggings and add a cute pair of boots — like this pair or this pair — and you’re ready for work or the weekend.
Animal print. Leopard print works for all seasons, but there’s just something about golden-and-black leopard-and-cheetah hues that pair exceptionally well with fall. This trend can be worn in pretty much every imaginable way, from shoes and sweaters to coats and scarves. You can even pick up a pair of animal-print pants , if you’re feeling daring enough! I encourage it.
And, finally, if animal print is a little too daring for you? My other favorite print — camouflage — tones it down a little. (Pun fully intended.) Just like animal print, you can rock this neutral print on any item of clothing — shoes, tops, bottoms, jackets, etc. Just like animal prints, camo patterns are a wardrobe staple that can be worn year after year, season after season.
That’s it! I absolutely love fall fashion, so the chilly mornings and street-side pumpkins that have been appearing lately make me especially happy. 🙂
